PLEASE JOIN OUR 2010 MARATHON CHALLENGE AND HELP YOUR COMMUNITY

This is the third year the Swansea Town Hall is partnering with the Swansea Royal Canadian Legion, the Swansea Area Ratepayers Association and the Swansea Community Recreation Centre to participate in the 2010 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon! These 4 SWANSEA COMMUNITY PARTNERS will be hosting a NEIGHBOURHOOD CHEERING SECTION to fundraise for their initiatives and to cheer on the SWANSEA CHAMPION TEAM and all other marathon runners that day!

Money raised by the event will be put to great use in our local area! The Recreation Centre will use it to help fund its fabulous programs, the Legion will use it for maintaining its historic Swansea building, the Town Hall will use it to help fund its second phase of expansion and the Ratepayers will use it to fund their ongoing work on important local issues! Our 2010 goal is to exceed the $6000 we raised last year for the Partners and we need YOUR help to do this! #1 COME CHEER WITH US! There are 12 NEIGHBOURHOOD CHEERING SECTIONS like ours along the race route and Scotiabank awards prizes to the best ones!! Last year we won an honourable mention (and $1000 from Scotiabank!) but this year we are aiming for top prize!! We need LOTS of people to join us! Bring your NOISEMAKERS AND BRIGHTLY COLOURED FLAGS AND CLOTHES! We need to make an IMPACT on the judges and make sure the runners can hear us cheer them! Let's show them how the Swansea Community has SPIRIT and FUN! As part of the cheering experience, we will give you free food and great entertainment! Our Cheering Section is a FREE, FUN FILLED event for all ages! PLEASE MARK THE DAY IN YOUR DIARIES AND JOIN US!!
