2026 Is our centennial year! 100 years ago, Swansea became an independent village. Since amalgamating with the City of Toronto in 1967, Swansea has retained its community spirit, independent perspective, and is a great place to live.
As Swansea enters its centennial year, we are honored to launch a community-wide celebration. From special events and commemorations, the year ahead will offer many opportunities for residents of all ages to come together and take part in this once-in-a-century milestone.
Our Centennial Celebration is coming up on Saturday, June 13 from 10am to 4pm.
The event will take place at Swansea Town Hall (95 Lavinia Ave) and will welcome residents of all ages to celebrate an important moment in Swansea’s history.
Schedule:
- All Day: Learn and celebrate with community groups in the Rousseau Room. Activities at the Swansea Memorial Library
- 10:00 am: Irish Dance Performance
- 10:45 am: Laneway Name Unveiling
- 1:00 pm: Cake Cutting
We will also have Swansea Centennial Swag available. (Cash only.)
