Swansea Historical Society
The Swansea Historical Society was founded in 1985, by a group of individuals with a mutual interest in preserving and promoting the history of Swansea. We invite you to follow our activities through the Society’s website which is updated on a regular basis with current events.
Archive
The Swansea Historical Society Community Archives are located in the William Small Room on the Ravine level of the Town Hall. The Archives are open to the public between 3:30pm and 7:30pm most Wednesdays from February to June and October to December. To avoid disappointment, prior arrangements are recommended.
The Historical Society is very much interested in donations of old photographs and memorabilia. If you are able to contribute historical stories or historical information of the Swansea area, please contact us to make an appointment to discuss further. We are interested in hearing from you!
Scheduled Meetings
The Historical Society holds its monthly meetings on the first Wednesday of each month during February, March, April, May and October, November, December. There are no meetings from June to September.
Meetings begin at 7:30pm with a short business meeting followed by a guest speaker, light refreshments and some additional time allocated to reminisce on the Swansea area/community.
Our Annual Walk is held on a Saturday in June.
